Job Purpose:

  • To manage the Finance function ensuring the administration and maintenance of the Association’s financial systems to ensure the integrity of information produced.
  • Assure that all services are delivered in accordance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.

Accountable for:

  • The day-to-day management of the Finance Department.
  • Leading and co-ordinating the preparation of the Association’s and Group management, and statutory accounts, annual budget and other financial statements and returns in compliance with Accounting Standards, and with statutory regulator’s requirements.
  • Working closely with the Finance Director on the preparation of the Business Plan ensuring compliance with requirements of funders and the Regulator of Social Housing as well as those of the Board.
  • Overseeing the financial administration, management, and statutory accounts for the Association’s managed organisation.
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all statutory and other regulatory returns.
  • Playing an active role in the Leadership Team of the Association, taking forward relevant corporate and operational objectives.
  • Overseeing administration of the Association’s payroll.
  • Actioning the Association’s rent setting policy in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that service charge information is accurately recorded and that service charges are set correctly.
  • Rigorously monitoring, appraising, and developing staff to ensure personal development to achieve their full potential and effective succession planning.
  • Supporting the Identification and effective management of all risks to the organisation.
  • Working with the association in ensuring that you strive for excellence in the following areas:
    • committing to value for money principles in all activities;
    • promoting equality of opportunity for all and embracing diversity; and
    • engaging residents and customer insight to help deliver good quality services.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities reasonably associated with the post title and post holder’s capabilities, as and when required by the Association.
